Biz Divas Monthly Meetup had a very interesting topic of discussion: “Building Your Business On Facebook”.
Since Facebook plays a very important role in today’s urban life, how to leverage it to its maximum potential is a question on every entreprenuer’s mind. No wonder we had a great turnout for the session.
The facilitator Manish Sinha, a brand, advertising & digital media strategist and a creative entrepreneur shared his insights from his vast work experience. After working at various senior positions he took a plunge into entrepreneurship to build a ‘unhotel’ – Cinnamon Stays in Gurgaon, now rated No.1 bed & breakfast by Trip Advisor & driven solely by social media marketing. Coming from his experience, he had a number of social media tips up his sleeve which he shared generously with the divas.
He explained the workings and impacts of social media in a very simple and informative way. He also went on to discuss strengths and weaknesses of already existing Facebook pages and groups of some Biz Divas members.
He believes that it’s not so much of ‘selling’ on the social media as it is ‘story-telling’. He also emphasized that Facebook cannot be looked upon at in isolation; other social media like twitter also have to be considered simultaneously for desired impact.
There was a question and answer session at the end.
Following the session there was a celebration of one successful year completed by Biz Divas. There was a cake cutting ceremony, two actually, as one of Biz Divas’ mentors, Nandini Gulati, who helped Biz Divas kickstart had her birthday the same day. There was jubilation, conversations and networking over snacks.
Seeing the success of the session and more demand for in-depth knowledge of the subject, Biz Divas announced detailed workshops on Facebook to be organized shortly.
